Two-in-one vacuums and mops keep your floors clean with one machine.

Not only can sweeping your floors be a complete and utter pain, but it can be difficult to find the right vacuum to make sure you’re actually cleaning them as clean as they should be. Add to that all the different mops out there and it becomes a hassle just thinking about it.

This is where vacuum mops come in. While you may have dismissed them in the past because you were worried they half-assed everything, after testing them out we can confidently say they’re worth your time and money. Some machines must. . We tested five different models, all of which have some type of water-based mopping component. Surprisingly, I found that there are good options for every budget.

How does Vaccum Mop Works?

Vacuum Mop is the best option for you to clean your home floor as it will leave your floor cleaner as compared to any other standard Mop. Vacuum Mop will not only reduce your time but also it also reduces your effort. Traditional mops actually push the dirty water onto your floor, leaving it really clean. Many vacuum mop combos, on the other hand, have two tanks: one that you fill with clean water, and another to suck up and catch dirty water, dirt, hair, and debris.

What to consider when buying the best vacuum mop combos

Most vacuum-mop combos work differently than regular stick vacuums. Instead of dust bins, the majority of vacuum-mop combos have a clean water tank and a dirty water tank. They focus more on using brush rollers to clean wet and dry dirt—and most are designed specifically for hard floors rather than carpet.

When choosing the best vacuum mop combo for cleaning your home, keep in mind that their functionality, ease of use, and vacuuming procedures may vary from model to model. Some elements, like longer battery life, are always better, but many things will come down to personal taste. Either way, it’s important to keep them in mind to make sure you pick a vacuum-mop combo that meets your needs.

Functionality

Vacuum-mop combos come in most of the same shapes and sizes as standard vacuum cleaners. Most upright vacuums are relatively light, making them easy to push across the floor. On the other hand, a handheld vacuum can be more convenient for cleaning countertop spills or your car. The robot vacuum can be controlled by your smartphone or voice commands, so you don’t have to clean at all.

It’s also important to keep in mind what kind of surfaces you need to clean. Some vacuum-mop combos are designed to clean both hard floors and area rugs. Others work well on hard floors and carpets. Some vacuum mop combo can vacuum and steam your floors at the same time. Make sure you pick a vacuum mop combo that can do everything you want.

Corded vs. Cordless

Most of the vacuum mop combos on our list are cordless, but we made sure to include a corded version as well. A corded vacuum can feel inconvenient because you have to take care of the cords and you are limited in how far you can vacuum/mop. An extension cord can increase the length, but some manufacturers warn against using it. On the other hand, cordless vacuums last much shorter than most electronics, so a corded vacuum saves you from having to charge it between cleanings.

Dual water tanks

Some vacuum mop combos have a dual water tank with two chambers: one with clean water that you fill to clean the floor and one that you fill with dirty water later. This is an incredibly useful feature that ensures that you are not cleaning your floor with dirty water. Sadly, you’re less likely to find dual water tanks on robot vacuums or handheld models.

Cleaning/self-cleaning process

Some vacuum-mop combos have a self-cleaning function, which means you don’t have to worry about cleaning those dirty brush rollers. The self-cleaning process usually involves placing the machine on the docking station and pressing a button to start the clean cycle, which lasts less than a minute. The self-cleaning feature does not mean that the vacuum and mop do not need to be emptied. You will still need to empty and clean the waste water tank, filters, etc.

If the vacuum mop combo does not have a self-cleaning function, you will need to manually clean the tank, filters, and scrubbing pad after each use. Some vacuum-mop combos have machine-washable pads, and/or the option to skip cleaning by using disposable pads.

Separately, some mops recommend that you use a cleaning solution instead of water. Using a mop that requires a proprietary solution can make the mop more expensive to use over time, especially compared to water-based cleaners.
