Solar heaters are the best addition to the pool

Introduction

When you are ready to take that long-awaited dip in the pool, but the moment you get there to jump in, it’s still cold. There is no better way to extend your swimming season than by adding a solar heater. The best thing about these systems is that they are affordable and easy to install.

There are two types of solar pool heaters.

Active solar pool heaters use pumps and fans to circulate the water. A dynamic system uses multiple panels to transfer heat from the sun’s rays into the swimming pool. Each panel is connected by pipes that run through the ground or under the deck, where it can be concealed.  A pump circulates water through these pipes back into the pool after it has gained heat from exposure to sunlight.

Passive solar pool heaters do not use pumps or fans, but they’re more efficient than active ones because they absorb more heat with less surface area. In addition to being less expensive to install, passive systems require less maintenance overall.

The passive solar heater is a less expensive option, but it is not as efficient.

Passive solar heaters may be suitable if you have a smaller pool and want to keep it warmer without significant expenses. These units are less expensive than active models and can be installed without additional equipment.

However, they will not provide as much energy as an active system due to their lower efficiency level. This means that while your pool will hold heat longer in the evening and overnight, it won’t get warm enough during the day unless you use an additional heating method such as electric or gas heating elements.

Passive solar heaters do not require any pumps or circulation devices, so installation does not require special knowledge or skillset; however, adding this type of heater requires significant planning ahead of time since there is no way of knowing exactly how much space will be needed before purchasing materials required for installation.

Pool covers.

A solar cover, also called a solar blanket, is an effective way of heating your pool. A solar cover is a thin plastic sheet that covers the water’s surface and protects it from evaporation and sunlight. It’s usually made from polyethylene plastic material, which is resistant to UV rays. Solar covers come in different colours, such as black or blue; you can find them at any nearby pool store.

Solar covers are particularly effective for small above-ground pools with limited space because they don’t take up much room when stored off-season. They are also great for helping reduce evaporation when your swimming pool doesn’t have enough time to heat up entirely during the day due to cold temperatures or windy conditions like in colder climates.

Double your swimming season.

In Australia, the seasons are the opposite compared to the northern hemisphere. It experiences summer from December to February; autumn from March to May; winter from June to August is winter; and spring from September to November.

But adding a solar pool heater will double your swimming season. The pool will be warm enough to use by May, and you won’t have to struggle through the cold winter months. It will save you on your energy bill and should pay for itself within three to four years.

Conclusion

Solar pool heaters are a great solution; they can pay for themselves in just a few years. They’re also easy to install if you have the right tools and know-how. Everyone who owns an above-ground or inground pool with solar heating capabilities should invest in one today!
